PD: 10/11/2014 Lesson- start of planning

Today in class we got into our groups and started to discuss our different film ideas. My group includes me Sam Bellman and Sophie Frain, however Sam was not present for this lesson. Sophie and I had three ideas between us: Fangs in Love (a romantic fantasy), a girly romantic-comedy and a horror.
We developed the idea of the horror film into something slightly different which included a group of friends researching a witch for their school project and is revealed to look shockingly like one of the girls in their friendship group. We liked this idea because it is quite unique however horror films are quite common among previous media groups.
We are also stuck between another film idea which is the girly romantic-comedy. This is a film which follows two friends on their first holiday without parents and the obstacles they face. We liked this idea because it is also quite unique. It would be very successful if we managed to be good at editing because this opening would involve a lot of editing. We would aim to encorporate the titles into the scenes, props or Polaroid pictures. We would cut between two different scenes (each of the two friends' bedrooms). We would also try to zoom into a Polaroid picture in one of their bedrooms and it would morph into a home video of the two friends when they were little. I also like this idea because we would use different age groups in our opening (we would use babies and children to achieve realistic 'old' photographs of the two girls).
