The concept of this film has the potential to be very successful but the creators of this film did not achieve this. I like how at the beginning they incorporated the names of the actors in the character's shoes as they reached the top of the steps. To make the shots filmed outside relate to the genre, they should have filmed on a cloudy day or later on in the day so it is slightly darker and not sunny (pathetic fallacy). Having the first shot people see being outside in a pleasant sunny area (high-key lighting) with vibrant colours; blue sky and green/red plants contradicts the genre making it come across like a comedy. This film could also be mistaken for a comedy because the two characters are holding toy guns. The acting was quite good and i liked some of the shots (e.g. when you can see them hiding but also their victim through the window. However, it is slightly unrealistic because the victim would have heard the boys coming. I like the effects sounds of the guns put on the video when editing because it sounds realistic but is ruined by the visual effect of the red and yellow cartoon after each gunshot. The victim should have fake blood or show signs of injury after being shot which makes the next part very confusing where the victim returns looking perfectly healthy and attempts to shoot one of the boys. i like the shot of the boys running up the stairs- the cameraman is in front of them running up the stairs backwards which gives the shot a good effect. The ending is good where the boy reaches into the locker (towards the camera) because it leaves the audience asking questions.

I found this film opening interesting because it is different. The sadness and grief of a breakup is stereo-typically associated with females but this film opening portrays this feeling with a teenage boy. This is not expected by the audience with keeps them interested and entertained. The acting is not always believable and the begining is not great. The Edge
This was my favourite film opening which we were shown today in class. I think the way they entwined the titles into the scenery was really clever. The shots they used were varied and interesting. The music added the suitable amount of suspense-the sound was parallel to what was shown visually. The plot of this opening keeps the audience interested/hooked because the pace starts slow, gets faster then slows down again. It ends with a tense shot of a gun being held up to the camera. My Mother and I
I think that this film was not as good as the others. It seemed a little confused because I was not too sure what was happening. It made me ask questions but because I didn't really understand it. The man takes too tong to walk up the stairs. The monopoly is still placed on the table from thirty years before, this slightly confused me because it gave the film a creepy edge. The dialogue between the boy and his mother was not clear. However I liked the variety of aged people they used.Christopher
I really like this film opening. I think it is unique and i like the shots they use.
